The Year is 1971.
Wednesday, May 28th, 2008I have to be brutally honest here. I was never a huge L.O.T.U.G. fan. Psycho? Meh. Funky Child? The horns got old real quick. Chief Rocka I got into for a few just because the video was so good and featured Redman looking grimey as a mufucka.
In retrospect, I watch this interview and performance and these dudes seemed pretty grounded and on top of their music industry game considering what year this was and how many people were getting taught Industry Rule #4080 the hard way. They had a couple joints that really crushed the mixshows, so let’s give them their propers.
To all non-Canadians..the guy with the dreads and lingo is Tony Young aka Master T. The only really credible and motivated dude to ever grace our music channel. He got sick of the bs and went out on a huge note bringing up Lauryn Hill out of nowhere for an unplugged show live on TV. He also had a store called T’s Cribb that sold Cross Colours, Triple 5 Soul and other OG “rap” clothing lines. Big up Master T and his talking keyboard, Roxy.
