Rollin’ 85 South

Hey remember Rowdy Records? Dallas Austin before the yae-yo incident?
Well if you don’t, he was somewhat of a risk-taking visionary his whole career and he gave upstart skateboarding, weed-smoking, vans-rocking, shit-talking Y’all So Stupid a deal through Arista since he had industry juice at the time. He also put out Illegal and Da King and I. Some serious classics on that roster.
Their debut(and sadly, only) album Van Full Of Pakistans was the shit. I bumped The Plant and the title track like crazy only to find out that The Plant was somehow missing from the LP that I copped in some random spot near Times Square on my first trip to NYC.
This video is of their Debut Single, 85 South. It’s hysterical. Dude skitching the car with his deck on the highway? Easy.
H20 from this group later was part of a late 90’s underground group called Mass Influence. They had a couple bangers. Evidently he is still doing his thing, so big up and thanks for penning some seriously dope tracks. Dirt Road White Girl anyone?
Here’s audio of the aforementioned title track “Van Full Of Pakistans”. If H20 pops up on here and tells us wtf that actually referred to, it would be appreciated. I’ll try and get the 2 other mixes off the 12′ up here soon with download links for all.
