I love watching these old St. Ides commercials. They were the only company letting rappers be spokesmen at the time. Look at the clothes, Cube when he still had an edge and even JD before he went to jail. Talk about taking me back to a better time…..Look for more St. Ides commericals coming in the not to distant future.

    I remember Ice Cube saying that it wasn’t contradictory for him to be in the Nation of Islam and be an alcohol spokesperson at the same time. He even went as far as to say he gives the money back to the ‘hood. Me and my friends never believed a word of that ish. If you’re doing it for money, then just say so man. The only rapper that bothered me when they did a St. Ides commercial was Rakim. I still can’t believe he did it.

    I just wanna killa can! Thats hot. Yo can you please find the redman and B.I.G. versions too? Them shits were the one’s that got me drinkin St. Ides when I was young. I used to be a huslta. Now I’m a 22 brew guzzla other beers I’m not livin ya… I know ya’ll remember that shit.

    here’s a 1994 article from entertainment weekly about chuck d suing st ides because ice cube used voice samples from “bring the noise” (”the incredible” and “number one”) in one of the radio spots he made.
