So I’m obviously one of the 17 people who copped the Pete Nice solo project, which is maybe why this video has sentimental value for me.
It’s definitely weird. There’s definitely a fat guy who for whatever reason is the main focus or at least subplot of the video. There’s definitely at least one random rap cameo in it as well.
Sidebar..and I can’t take credit for this story. My man Toddy Flores from montreal put me up on a crazy Pete Nice fact. 3rd Bass had a show there in the early 90’s and someone rushed the stage and tried to throw down. Pete Nice’s ubiquitous cane suddenly becomes a huge blade after he pulls it out of it’s fake cane sheath. NO JOKE.

Damn, I didn’t know Ivy League rappers were so hard. (I would say something smarmy about Kidz In the Hall, but I actually like them.)
If the fat guy dancing had glasses I’d assume it was more shit aimed at MC Serch, but without that, I really don’t know. That Pete Nice is a great record though, can’t front on all those early Beatnuts productions, (or the Psycho Les guest verse) I guess I was number 16 who got it.

I own Dust To Dust on CD so that’s more than 17 now, the fat dude is a mocking of MC Serch, remember 3rd Bass did not break up on good terms, in another video (Rat Bastard?) an MC Serch clone gets his head splattered a scene copied from The Untouchables movie.

I swear, with no bull, that a local Goodwill had about 200 sealed copies of that album on CD.
I’m #18 to own it. Didn’t cop the Goodwill stash though.

i could be totally wrong, but i think i remember reading somewhere years ago that the guy playing the mc serch character is robert marena - the same “fat dancing guy” who appeared in local radio ads in the early ’90s:
