First and foremost, big dookie dope shout goes out to House on this footage. Basically a Magic Johnson bounce pass that enabled me to go in for the easy lay-up a la James Worthy or Coop.
This footage is nuts. Too Short in 1990 talking about his lyrics and their subversive nature with a big ass grin almost the whole time. He has definitely rapped the exact same way about the exact same things his entire career. Kudos Short, we here at themeaningofdope appreciate your consistency.
This is apparently from a documentary that was featured on PBS when rap first started to get a lot of flack for the misogyny and foul language that dudes like Short were at the forefront of.

This might be the best clip I’ve seen up here even though I got a twinge of sadness when Paris said “the negativity is beginning to crumble in this industry as a whole.”
Guess he wasn’t 100% right on that note. Short seems to be pretty good at owning up to what he puts out there though. You can tell he’s not talking to a hip hop affiliated journalist. He pretty much sums it up with “Too Short is the male ego at it’s worst”. It’s dope to see him being so frank about doing what he does. Not to mention being absolutely right. Man…..this clip was a home run. Props.

Jesus, that’s from Akili Buchanan’s PBS doc “Rap City Rhapsody” isn’t it? I’ve been looking for a copy of that pretty much since it aired. I want the APG Crew footage almost as bad as I want the letterman jacket $hort Dog rocks walking around Lake Merritt.

Ayo do you have footage of the dangerous crew on rap city? Don’t kno the year but I wanna say it was somewhere around the time the dangerous crew album dropped. They filmed it n ATL and I remember banks sayn “short aint here, he’s @ tha dentist gettn his grill fixed” lol
Or even master p on rap city round 96 when they were n the ice cream shop.
