Was there anyone angrier and more political than Cube on his first 3 solo releases?  I mean, excluding Paris and Chuck D because those are just too obvious.  It seems relevant since Cube is about to make a return into music and I have had the privilege of hearing an advance copy of his album and seeing him in concert within the last 12 months.  I believe him 100% that he’s an mc first and he is just pimping Hollywood for this paper.  He’s still got some spit in him and there’s a couple tracks on that album I really liked.

It’s too bad he got the brunt of one of the best dis tracks of all time because that will forever be in my mind despite his thorough career and discography.

Ice Cube was ARGUEABLY the most angry, but he was DEFINITELY the most feared! The way he commanded attention was unreal. I’d hate to tell him to go back to that point in his life, but the young generation need someone like Cube in the Rap game. THANKS FOR THE POST. Great Blog as well….I got it on my BlogRoll (www.djhaylow.blogspot.com)

“one of the best dis tracks of all time”

What would that be? Not Common , surely ?

what diss track are you talking about? when i think of diss tracks and cube i think of no vaseline.

  4. Ace Six Says:

    the bitch in yoo?

  5. Sevon Says:

yeah, bitch in yoo is one of the illest dis tracks of all time (and it was COMMON!! lol). anyway, dude could’ve turned hollywood, but cube has always been true. cube’s underrated, word! that dude did the will smith and still stayed cube. i love that dude (and i don’t need to say no homo). cube did it to the game from boyz in the hood to whatever next shit he has popping. i’m not gonna buy no cube album because he has the teens for that now but anybody who doesn’t know cube’s body of work is a sucka. keep it up cube. while you making movies, you will always be “carazy muthafucka name ice cube”. one!! cube’s a credit to the culture and that’s what’s really real.

yo house, are you a youngin or just really got up on game? do ur history before commenting.

  7. Sevon Says:

btw, i meant boyz in the hood the song, not the movie.

Also, too bad he used the Nation of Islam and St. Ides simultaneously to further his career.

  9. House Says:

    lol @ Sevon……

Yeah Common Sense did him in a clever style. But Cube did NWA brutally in ‘No Vaseline’. So I suprised he didnt get round to crushing Common fully. Maybe he was more concerned with Cypress Hill at the time. Tha the problem with dissing multiple people like they did on the Westside Connect. Who to focus on.
