Don’t underestimate this album, Blue Funk is not to be overlooked. With productions from Pete Rock, DJ Premiere, and others, not to mention one of the more slept on posse cuts “A Buncha Niggas”.
Here is a video of Hev performing the title track “Blue Funk”.
Here is a clip with our homie Bushwick Bill AKA Phantom of the Rapra AKA Dr. Wolfgang von Bushwickin the Barbarian Mother-Funky Stay High Dollar Billster.
These are some classic moments from his Jerry Springer appearance. Bill definitely holds his own up there while surrounded by a bunch of haters.
This is Part 2 to the RapCity (Canada) feature on The Fugees. Check the awkward ‘kid with a crush’ dynamic between Oliver and Lauryn, the awkward ‘mic too close to my fucking face’ dynamic between Lauryn and the mic, and the unimpressed look on ‘Clef’s face after Oliver tells him to watch himself. SMH.
On another note:
Dear Lauryn,
Please put out an album showin’ these crabs how to rhyme man.
Dear Clef,
Please challenge Oliver to a grudge match and have it in front of the MuchMusic building, and then invite Iron Mike to show everyone why he was so scared to get back in the ring at that time.
Hear is a throwback LA Gear spot for there “get in gear” promotion.
This video is full of cameos, Karl Malone, Scott Williams* (thanks AP), Hakeem the dream, Mike Fratello, and the one and only…Joe Montana. Let me know if you see any others.
The white man cant jump influence is very clear in this peiece.
First and foremost, big dookie dope shout goes out to House on this footage. Basically a Magic Johnson bounce pass that enabled me to go in for the easy lay-up a la James Worthy or Coop.
This footage is nuts. Too Short in 1990 talking about his lyrics and their subversive nature with a big ass grin almost the whole time. He has definitely rapped the exact same way about the exact same things his entire career. Kudos Short, we here at themeaningofdope appreciate your consistency.
This is apparently from a documentary that was featured on PBS when rap first started to get a lot of flack for the misogyny and foul language that dudes like Short were at the forefront of.
Part 2 of 3. Drunk-ass Com Sense talks Resurrection and hip-hop in general. There’s some ill footage from the concert in here. Somewhere near the front of the crowd is me with the DSK crew before we put down our homie Planet Pea. We probably bombed the shit out of the bathroom when we went down there to roll up some trees.
