A phifeless, Tribe Called Quest rocks Dennis Miller Live. Phife Dawg was forced to leave the show for the hospital after having issues with his diabetes.
Q-Tip still makes it happen by covering for Phife on his verse, on top of that he has to deal with a heckler at the end.
BTW, Dennis Miller… He’s down with us. He wasn’t having it with that dude in the crowd.

first reaction is that the song translates really well live, but the closer i listened, it was really missing phife. this probably wasn;t the best choice for them to use if phife wasn’t there. dennis miller calling the dude out is hilarious.

i also remember tribe on letterman around this time doing “check the rhyme”. there’s a funny moment where fife kind of forgets the words and q-tip bugs out (pardon the expression) a little.

yeah this shit does sound hot live especially with the band backing them. Tip did a good job reppin for both of them on the mic. classic!

Awesome… I was afraid to watch it when I saw it was a live band backing it… But it was excellent! And what’s that Miller is holding at the end? A CD LONGBOX!?!! Whaaaaaaat!
