Busta Rhymes’ tailor must have been paid well from about 1991-2002, since it sure looks like the work of the same guy who did these matching jumpsuits that the dungeon dragon and co. are wearing in this clip.

Can you imagine going to check your tailor to get fitted with 3 of your close friends for matching outfits with a contrasting colour stripe?  Like, can I please wear the ultimate urban kimono?  Oh, and can you make sure all my boys are wearing it when we perform on tv?  It’s crazy how different rap fashion is from this period until now, but the clothing is just a sidenote in this particular video.

I have seen countless Party Machine episodes and never have I seen an artist or group NOT lip-sync their performance.

I wonder if Busta Bus, Charlie Brown and Dinco refused since they prided themselves on having one of the most electric and dialed-in stage shows in rap at the time?  I wouldn’t be surprised, but either way it’s a treat to have actual vocals and backups on this show since their lip-syncing can almost ruin some other great perfomances that they had on there during the short period that this show was on the air.

I just ripped my Future Without A Past CD, so when I get my act together later I will update this post with a zip file for download.

Man, I love this site…I’m addicted to the days of early hiphop, but the fact that I’m only 22 means I missed out on alot of the television appearances and live performance…thanks for giving my generation a chance to enjoy the greatest era in music (imo)

anthony I feel you man, I’m 21 and feel the same way about it. I can’t catch any classic performances like this on tv, you have to dig online and almost know what you’re looking for. Much respect for another dope vid Ace.

I get a lot of inspiration for how I want to do live performances myself by watching the old acts. Much more energy, it seems like the crowd gets much more out of it too.

Yo with all this footage of LONS, I would love for some one to post the elusive MTV show where they broke up live on television.

And to the ones above, don’t feel bad, at least you are actually getting a chance to see these clips now. I am 32 years old and even I was not able to catch half this ish when it came on. With the music industry hating on hip-hop music back in the days, most of the stuff could only be seen on public access or cable like 2 am in the morning on school nights! WTF!!!!

I read somewhere that Busta’s mom made their outfits.
