OMG I love this video. Takes me back to my high school days. I love the dancers, that beat, the colorful clothes and the $17 budget video. This is what the 90’s was all about.
A solid performance by the prestigious Eric B and Rakim. This time we get to see the god rock over the instrumental, not the vocal track, as seen here and here.
One thing is for sure, there is nothing like hearing this dude spit live vocals. As seen here and here.
Another Yo! MTV Raps gem courtesy of our man DJ Nes
Holy crap, what show is this? Sean, help us out here my man. This footage appears to be from some show with Night in the title and I’m guessing the dude in the blue suit who gives Kane the overexcited daps was the host.
House, you’re the man for that. Into The Night with Rick Dees. Wow, that show had full rap performances? Amazing. Sean, you’re also the man for the clip.
Let’s just review the facts. A young, extremely dapper Kane is performing It’s Hard Being The Kane on this random show complete with Mister Cee, Scoob and Scrap and 2 female dancers.
Not only does he bless us with a live and flawless performance, but they break it down and rock a full synchro’d dance routine to close it out. Rappers used to get down for theirs, no doubt! Sorry about the hiatus for the last couple months, fam. Just trust that we will be here forever. We will be here..forever.(kris one)
Best wishes for ‘09, it’s finally on for real duke.
Here is some rare live Biggie footage from 94′. We get blessed with the “Unbelievable” verses, over a less unbelievable beat. If you look carefully, you can see the whole bad boy fam in the cut.
Well I posted 2 small videos to get my feet wet, I wanted to end the day with something with a little more weight to it, a crowd pleaser as JC calls it. This is when Bushwick Bill hosted Rap City. I obviously missed the first few seconds and the intro theme. None the less this is still a great piece of video. It is all the intros that Bill does with all the videos and commercials edited out., He goes on to talk about the formation of the Geto Boys and a little bit about their solo projects. Bill actually isn’t too wacked out in this clip he keeps it on the dl pretty much but I kept getting the feeling that he could have lost it at any second.
On a side note, check the Van Grack shirt, we posted a Craig G Van Grack commercial last year:Van Grack
One reason JC wanted me to add some videos here was to inject some West Coast flavor into the mix. This commercial is another obscure one that I found on a tape. This is right from the height of the Mid 90’s west coast dominance. Not sure the rappers are even actually in this 30 second clip.
Alright everyone, I am new here so bear with me, there may be some glitches on my first post or two. My name is House and JC has put me down. I got some fresh vids for ya’ll. I begged for JC to finally let me help him out cause I love this site. I hope you all will show your love too by giving us a ton of feedback on what we are doing on here.
JC, Ace & Kaewonder will all be making their appearances on here for 2009 as soon as they all wake up from their New Year’s hangovers. All of us here at the Meaning of Dope are looking forward to a very busy year.
So here go. My first entry is a rare commercial for the Almighty RSO. Yes, Benzino stirs up some strong emotion in a lot of the true Hip Hop heads, myself included. Check it out! Peace!
