Leaders of the New School are joined by Del the Funkee Homosapien as they spit a pseudo freestyle session. All 5 members of LONS spit a few lines. Busta has a real leadership quality about him as seen in this and other vintage video from this era. Check the kick ass LONS shirts and where do you get this high energy of a performance now-a-days?
In 1992 Paris decided to try to make a controversial record called Bushkilla. This Day In Rock segment was about all I ever heard about it though. I am not sure if he was just trying to get publicity or it was his true feelings coming out. I kinda felt like he was just trying to get some press coverage to try to sell some albums. I really like the beat on this song and the album was pretty decent. And honestly, I felt it was pretty graphic the first time I heard it. Gotta give it to Paris as his Scarface Records is still kicking and he is still putting out some albums.
I had never heard of these guys. I was scanning a VHS tape the other day and came across this video. Something was a little off with the whole thing, then I saw it. Yes, that is Donnie Wahlberg in the video at about the 1:13 point, sporting the backpack no less. Marky’s bro is the executive producer so it was a necessity that the former Funky Bunch front man make his appearance as well at approx. 1:18. From 1992 on Interscope Records, Def Duo ‘Parlayin’ :

A Tribe Called Quest is a bit tired from filming the Bonita Applebum video when then sit down for this taping. Kool Moe Dee interviews Tribe and they dish on what Tribe means, the Native Tongues, a couple of their videos and more. These guys can barley keep their eyes open. This has to be fairly early video right? I mean Jarobi is there.
Everyone knows Shante’s place ih Hip Hop history, with here ground breaking response song “Roxanne’s Revenge”. Her response to UTFO’s “Roxanne, Roxanne”. This song here is produced by Grand Daddy I.U. and mixed by Biz Markie’s brother Cool V. Please note Biz’s guest appearance at the beginning. I added the clip below but I really have no clue what Shante is trying to say. I got bored and fell asleep right about the point where she started referring to herself in 3rd person.
