Here we have The A.T.E.E.M. There is very little info on them out there. I remember having the album on cassette back in the day. They were on Select Street Records. Produced by Chubb Rock & Trackmasterz.
Naughty drops the 411 on their song Ghetto Bastard, even showin Dee Barnes where the video was filmed. Treach proceeds to drop a small freestyle. Then wrapping it up the whole crew jumps into a live version of Uptown Anthem . For the new jacks out there, Naughty started off being called New Style and dropped one album called Independent Leaders under that name. After Queen Latifah took them under her wing, they regrouped (no pun intended) and came back out as Naughty by Nature.
I happen to have a whole bunch of lil Eazy-E media clips that I thought would add up to a pretty decent post. First we have a Day In Rock report on Eazy aledeging the now famous, rough housing to get Dr. Dre out of his Ruthless contract.
Second up is Eazy’s solo performance on In Living Color. Yes, they cut this one short. And Eazy is supported here by BG Knocc Out & Dresta on Compton City G’z.
Finally, this audio clip is mega, mega rare. It is possibly the single worst interview I have ever heard in any part of entertainment history. A little background, I fell asleep one night, not feeling well and I left my radio on as I dozed off. I awoke in the middle of the night as the host of the talk show that was on, Gil Gross, said he was going to have Eazy-E on after the commercial break. I scrambled around my room and found a tape to record this historic interview. Please enjoy the debacle that follows.
The Geto Boys tell the tale on how Bushwick, Face and Willie Dee came together. You Scarface fans may be wowed at the fact that he starts freestyling a lil bit and actually changes his flow to an uptempo speedy rate. Chucky gives the lowdown on why his eye got shot out. Bushwick cracks me up when he tries to be all philosophical.
This beat is actually better than I remember it being. Is this the same guy that did the Speed Racer song a few years ago? What rock did they turn over to find Ali Dee? Funny how the world works. This video is not so great but like I said the song is better than I gave it credit back in ‘92. Guess the dude had some cred at one point considering he had a duet with Kool G. Rap called “Bring It On” on the B-Side of this 12″.
Doctor Dre starts out this episode of Yo! Interviewing Ice-T, Monie Love & Freddie Foxxx on the set of Who’s the Man. Then he has to cut out in the middle to go cut a scene in the movie. Ice-T takes over letting the crowd get some camera time.
Dee Barnes opens up the Teacher’s mind on what hip hop is. Then KRS continues on to explain how he really feels about America and where home is. Always entertaining Kris wraps this up by explaining what he is looking to accomplish as an artist.
Too $hort’s trademark. We had this clip where Todd said that his “Too $hort” persona is just that, a character. I give the guy credit for admitting that he indulges his sex stories a smidgen.
